About The Thompson Community Foundation

 

The Thompson Community Foundation is an incorporated, non-profit, organization operated by a volunteer board. Our Foundation is a registered charity with Revenue Canada. (Revenue Canada Business Registration Number 898228374)

 

The Thompson Community Foundation is a “savings account” created for the community of Thompson by gifts from local and former citizens, businesses, and community organizations. The funds in this community savings account are never spent. The funds are managed by the foundation to produce an annual return for the community.

The revenue from these managed funds is granted to worthwhile community projects. Thompson Community Foundation has in place a granting process which invites community organizations to present project proposals to the community foundation. The proposals are evaluated by a Grants Committee. Grants are made to the projects based on the recommendations of the Grants Committee to Thompson Community Foundations Board of Directors.

As the size of the savings account grows so does the size of the annual distribution to community projects.
